For the picture club
Hello sisters. I love all the pictures! I hope your all still having as much fun as I am with this. Now if you guys could just finish posting your emotions to all the pictures, with what emotions they make you feel, then we can back and tell eachother what emotion we were feeling when we took them to see if its close to the others opinions. that is how I thought we were going to do this one. I didnt get any comments for the my selection of the next theme so Im assuming yall dont care for it, but I liked it. Sorry. Lets finish out the emotions one though. We are very excited for next weekend, going to Michigan. Lin again I wish you were all going to be there too. I love and miss you guys. Love Cindy

Emotions by Cindy
Hello ladies. Great pictures so far Rose and Esther. I have mine on here. This was alot harder then I thought it was going to be, but made us think which is good. Now I have a suggestion about the new topic. Since we all were late in putting our pictures up and December is almost half over, why dont we do mine through the end of January and then Rose, you will pick it for February. How is that? There is alot going on the rest of this month. I will post my topic tomorrow, I have to decide between the ones I have thought about. Here are my pictures. Love you guys, Cindy....ps....come on Linda...hahah

Christmas Visit
Hello my Family. Just wanted to post a note to let everyone know our visiting schedule. Reese and Kelly and the baby will be leaving Virginia on the 21st and arriving to Esthers on the 22nd. Ed and I will be doing the same. We will leave after work on the 21st and depending on how late it is, we will probably get a hotel half way and just get up early and come in in the morning of the 22nd. We are excited and cant wait!!! Whos house is Christmas Eve at this year? Just so you know, we will have to spend some time on the 23rd with Eds family and then the kids and us will have to leave Christmas day. I know its a short visit but I have to work the day after. At least we can be there. I love you all and will see most of you soon. Love Cindy

New photo theme
OK ladies, I have decided on the new photo theme for next month. We are going to do emotions. Now don't get your undies in a bunch, we are not going to photograph facial expressions, (well you can if you want)........what we will do is take pictures that evoke different emotions in us. When you post them do not say what your emotional idea was in taking the picture, we will comment on what our perception of the picture is and see if its the same as yours. Its going to be a little more difficult but should be fun. If you have any questions about it, let me know and happy shooting!!!!! Love Es. P.S. At least three pictures with different emotional content.

Cindys pictures
Hello everyone. I finally have my pictures. I added one extra that is a holy picture. The white texture picture is of my ceiling. It was cool because it actually looks pillowy but its not. My one line picture is of the stove part of Eds grill. The other lines picture is a shadow of my window blinds against our pantry. I havent gotten anything with waves yet.
Rose and Larry left on Monday and we sure hated to see them go. It was a great visit. Larry helped Ed finish our patio cover in between their many holes of golf. Rose and I did alot of flea marketing and talking and laughing. It was great. We all took a little road trip to a cool town called Evansville to look at all of the wonderful buildings they have and.....oh yea, we gambled for a few hours. haha It was really fun. I needed a dose of family so it was just great. I hope you like my pictures. Love to you all, Cindy
California on Fire! Okay, don't panic.
I'm not sure about Kathy, who is probably caught at least downwind (by many miles) of the Silverado Canyon fire, but I am certainly safe and far from the main troubles. You might remember attending a wedding for your sister, Linda-mom, in Lemon Heights some decades ago; well, that area is ablaze and I'm sure the house we used to live in has been evacuated.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&om=1&msa=0&msid=107327873899641045650.00043d1de33aaa4eb6ffb&ll=33.726053,-117.704773&spn=0.312382,0.54245&z=11
Ash is raining down on everyone and everything, particularly those downwind of these fires. This morning when Mom called to say Magic Mountain was on fire (or near it), the entire San Fernando Valley (where I live) had the bluest, clearest skies and no ash. Well, driving home, it is now blanketed with smoke, with a fine but thin bit of ash falling (not much, really) and doesn't even smell like a BBQ, but it is weird. Over Studio City is the only blue patch, because, it butts up against Beverly Hills whose city council passed a "no smoky skies" ordinance yesterday, and they are rich enough there to actually pay off God to get their wish. Seems like it anyway.
Anyway, it's pretty creepy. And hot. But we are fine, and we'll just stay indoors where it's cooler anyway and maybe less ash in our lungs. Love you all!!!

Fanominal Fintan
Hi Sisters,
Here is my brag for the month. I bought finny a plasma car, a self propelling plastic car you sit on. It has no motor or pedals, you just sit on it and move the wheel back and forth and it moves on its own, only on wood floors, doesn't do well on sidewalks. Anyway, I ride it with him and am teaching him and within hours he got it. Now he is propelling himself all over the place. Of course he prefers that I ride with him so we squish on it and have sooooooooooo much fun. Well, I think he is brilliant! I have been here for two days and having a ball. He calls me Omiiiii when he calls me, it is so cute. He also prefers me over his father. Oh he just woke up, gotta run!
Love you all. Linda

Just had to send this.....
Hi all, Devin had a tournament this weekend and this picture was taken by the photographer, while he was on the bench. They are going to use it for their display when they are at hockey tournaments. The joy in his face says it all and he wasnt even playing that game. Anyway, we did not do well, played against really tough teams; however, Devin did awesome as usual. In one game he stopped 63 of 68 shots. He was congratulated by the other coach and someone from another team said that we were not to worry, his goalie skills precede him down state. People are already talking............! Anyway, we won 2 of 4 games. I love and miss everyone, and will let the sisters know our next theme by the end of the week. Love and kisses, Es.

Ok, Its my turn now
Hello all. Well I have to get into the action of bragging also. Maya won the Nobel Peace Price for her rendition of Green Eggs and Ham. She is the youngest recipient and boy are we proud. She has been accepted to represent the USA for the next Olypics for gymnastics!!!! How cool is that. And.......she also got a recording contract from United Records. So, now just see if you can top that!!!! hahahah Im just joshing you. I am so proud to hear how our grandbabies are doing. I miss them so much every day, its wierd. Im telling you guys, one or more of those kids are going to be famous some day and we will be reaping the benefits of being in the front row or in the owners box watching them. Please tell them their aunt Cindy and Uncle Ed are very proud of them and to keep up the good work. I video with Maya and Reese and she is cute as a button. Usually waits until we are ready to say goodbye to get really cute and wave and blow kisses and make sounds. Im dying to get my hands on her, thats for sure. I think she is going to be a little fiest, but will have to wait and see. We did set up some time to be with her yesterday with Reese and Kelly. We will meet them half way between states on November 16th. We will all have dinner and stay in a hotel and then Ed and I will bring Maya home with us for a four days. Then we will drive to Virginia the day before Thanksgiving, go half way and stay in a hotel and make it in for Thanksgiving with the kids and to take Maya back. We will stay with the kids until Saturday afternoon and then head back to Kentucky. Man, the things we do to be with our grandbabies. Hey, I will take all the time I can get!!!! Im sorry I didnt do a holy picture, I had ideas but never had my camera when I saw them. I promise to do better this month. We are excited about Rose and Larry coming! Need some family bad!!! Linda I sent you a small package with your feet in the water picture. There is also another picture behind that one. Please let me know when you get it. Es, I tried to call you last night to get some Christmas plans set up. Give me a call some time so I can see if you will have room or not. Love to all of you. Notice none of the kids are using this site any more? Wonder why.....Love and hugs, Cindy

Another Proud Oma
Let me first say congratulations to the Holmes boys, can only add it had to come from our side of the family........lol. Keep us posted Nana! Mine are also doing very well in school; however, their sports side is my braggadocia for today. Reese had a soccer game yesterday and scored three goals and two assists. They won 12-1 and he is in love with the sport..... Devin had his second league game yesterday against a tough team, they won 4-2 and he had 36 shots on goal. They are now 2-0 in their division. Tate has a game today, he is doing well and skating well; however, isnt quite sure that it is his sport. He is still very young and will try different ones to find the one suited for him. Rose enjoy your little get away with Cindy, kiss and hug her for me. Love and miss you all. Keep the photos coming, still havent seen a "holy" picture from you Cin and all of you need to work on this months theme. I am thinking up one for next month, havent decided yet. Es.

A proud Nana!
Hi girls!
Just a quick note to say HI and do a little bragging for a minute! My two grandsons are being registered for the MATS program (hope I spelled it right) at their school. They qualify because of their high MEAPS scores of last fall. The MATS is Michigan Acedemic and Talent Search, a higher level testing for gifted and talented students! I knew they were smart but this is amazing! I will be anxious to see the results of this...will let you know when I do.
Nathan is playing soccer again and loves the game. He does his best but unfortunatly never gets on a mature team...always beginners and younger kids. His team won last Sat. and Nathan made the first goal....he was very proud of that! Logan begins basketball in a month and Sis goes into gymnastics which is good for her coordination. They are doing well in their new school and the teachers love them. They are growing into really nice kids.....I am proud of them. All is well here and at their house. Larry and I are anxious to head for Kentucky.....will be a nice get away for a few days! Fall is slowly turning into winter....its cold now! We had our woodstove going last nite while we watched tv before bed! Leaves are falling all around us and the house gets quite chilly during the day. I cleaned up my studio a couple days ago and am anxious to start my next projects. I love my little studio!
Hope you are all well. Es and I had a nice movie nite this week because Stan is in Florida...thanks Es! Lin, I am still not getting your mail! I will check my spam box to see if my mail is automatically going in there. Cin....we are almost on our way!! See you soon.
I love you each and every one...take care!
Love, Rose

A Hello!
A Hello to you all!
Just wanted to check in and say howdy! Recently got back from a weekend campout with friends up north. Our long time friends, the Priems, have 40 acres north of us, way back in the woods in bear country! A group of 10 or more take our campers up and park in wagon train fashion around the house. We have a big camp fire every night and listen to the coyotes howl and owls screech. Everyone brings two or three dishes to pass and we feast very well the whole weekend! We go out to breakfast, go north to a junk place for some real treasure hunting and just laugh like there is no tomorrow! We have such fun! I always hate to see the weekends end. Next trip is off to Kentucky! We will go spend 5 days with the Smiths at their lovely house....cannot wait!
Hope you are all thinking hard on the next photo theme...I already have one winning photo and will get a few more when I get to Cindy's. She and I will scour the countryside while the boys go golfing! And we will get in some Flea Market wandering too! Will write more when we get back home. Till later.....
Love and hugs to all,
Rose

Its me again!`
Just wanted to show you a picture of "Lucy", feist that she is. She is a good girl though, and loves Bailey. She is 3 lbs now, not much bigger than a small rabbit, though she thinks she's a giant. Finny and Maya would love her, Tate sure does. Love Es.
Well sistas, I just had some pictures printed and found this one I took on my way to work. This is for our "holy" series and let me tell you I had to take four different exits off the freeway to get the right picture. There were either power lines or trees in the way and I didnt want to go too far off the highway, I had to be at an appointment. ANyway, this was the sight and it was beautiful so I am adding it here. Looking forward to next months. Love and miss you all. Love Es.

The New theme!
Hello my sisters!
Linda...the LINES, WAVES and TEXTURES for next month sounds awesome and I for one am happy with the suggestion. Good one and I look forward to next months exhibition! I cannot stress to you guys enough to please, please save your best photos on your computers like Linda does. Put a folder together and keep your best for future referances. Or in Esther and my cases we have an album. Someday I would love to submit some of our best to a gallery and do a 4 way exhibition. Please dont laugh....I am serious! We are going along pretty nicely and I think we will get some nice work over the years. Just humor me...k?
Cindy, I agree with your suggestion of giving each one of us a turn to make the THEME choice....next month we can let Linda have her WAVES etc and then Nov. let Es do SWINGS, then you get Dec. (Cin) and I take Jan.. I think you already said that but I am just repeating it. It works for me!!!!
Now. get your expected photo turned in, Cin! Okay, I need to go now and get ready for our campout with our friends up in Gladwin. You guys take care and keep in touch. Oh ya, Lin, I did not get the letter informing us all of the vacation house for next summer. I heard about it thru Christy. July works for us too. Dont you want Es and I to look at it first?
Talk soon and gooood luck with the next photos!
Love you each and every one!

Great pictures my sistas....
I wanted to apologize for not having a picture yet. I will hunt my ideas down this weekend, I promise. I love the different ideas you guys have and the level of intensity with these pictures. I say we go ahead and do bugs for the month of October and then swings for November. How does that sound? Then I think we should start a rotation on who picks the next one and we all have to go with it. Might be more challenging some months then others, but thats ok. Can you tell Im taking alittle direction....hahah Linda, you picked bugs for October, Esther, your idea of swings is November and I will pick for December.....Rose January and we keep going that way. How does that sound my dears. That way there is no waiting for us all to agree, its like a book club, whoevers next in the rotation.....thats what we do. hahaha now how many different ways can I say it.......hahah Im just rambling. Its late and I should be in bed. So my fellow pearls, answer a "yes" in comments to this posting if this idea is ok. Love you all and miss you so much more then you will EVER know. Love Cindy
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Here is my example of "holy". Ignore my previous letter, I guess we're going with "bugs". I dont like it but I'll do it. I also want to stay with themes for our pictures.....though my interpretation of themes differs from Esthers, I will go along with the majority. Looking forward to next months "theme" but cin we have not seen a holy picture of yours yet....what's the holdup? When I come down I will bring my camera and we will go on a photo shoot, cuz the bugs are bigger in Kentucky. Love Rose
Next Theme!
Girls, lets decide what the next theme will be and if you have anymore suggestions please add them to our list. I like the theme AGE too so consider that one but am leaning to SWINGS as per Esthers suggestion...it has potential! Now dont just think of kids swings....it could apply to swinging doors, square dancers, people swinging kids around, a tire swing, etc. So far I think we have done a fabulous job with what we have taken and submitted but I think our best photos will be when we are together on site on a sister trip. I think it is harder for us to go out and shoot from home because there are too many daily distractions that come along. Thats what I think anyway. So...lets get a theme going...lets get some input!
Love you all,
Rose
ps. I am submitting my HOLY tonight via Esthers computer. Only have one ...will do better next time.

I'm still here!!
Hello my sisters!
I have a new address and have had such difficulty getting on the blog.....I am shocked that it worked today! Will try to post my HOLY photos via Esthers computer when they are due. All is well here at our house. Enjoying our new kitchen every day...I love looking at it! Getting ready to do some landscaping now. Larry is going to Canada with Stan, Sean and a bunch of other guys tomorrow. They will have fun...they always do. I plan to spend some time with Christy and the kids and go spend a couple of nights with Es. The house gets lonely after a while when Larry is gone. We had a wonderful visit with Kathy while she was here over Labor Day. Got to meet her new man...seems to fit right into the family. Nice guy...we liked him a lot.
fall weather has arrived for sure. Leaves are falling and nights are chilly. Good sleeping weather.
Hope you are all doing well. I miss you guys...will see Cindy and Ed next month in Kentucky. Be safe and know that I love you all.

Another Loss
Hi Sisters,
Just wanted to talk, I had to put Batman to sleep today. He had a huge tumor that was not operable. They would have to take his tongue out if they went in after the tumor so I said no that he needed to go. I am sad but glad that he isn't suffering. I find it interesting that he went so quickly after Bean, less then a month. Now they are together with Robin.
I am back in Napa and back in the stupid office. I may see my baby again next week, we go back to work on the boat again. Should be fun! The grapes are still hanging and may hang for another week or two. The sugars are up but we are hanging for flavor now. Then harvest, YEAH! I am going to try and make the visit with Gene in Kentucky, Cindy, I haven't said anything yet because I was waiting for Rose to let me know dates. Thought it would be a good time to see Gene, when others were around, yes, I am a coward. Cindy it would be fun to see the house and you and Ed. Is Gene bringing his RV? Rose and Larry are, right? I will stay with you or if it is to full I will get a room near by. Hope to fly myself again, you know how I love that.
Well, love to all. Linda

Linda

Designer Dog
Well, just wanted to let everyone know that I have a new addition to our family. She is two pounds of designer dog, three months old and will top out at four lbs when all is said and done. She is a Torkie (Yorkie and Toy fox terrier), very tiny but a good puppy. Most of you got to meet her at the bar b q and we went through all kinds of name ideas. We decided on Lucy, or rather I decided, though Stan calls her "Rita the rat". (She does look like one right now.....:-). Will send a picture when I take a few. No responses needed for this post, I already know I'm a dipstick..........lol. Love you all, Es.

The campers return!
Hi everyone!
We got home yesterday after 4 days of camping in the Manistee National Forest. Our weather up there along the shore line was overcast and we did have some sprinkling but nothing bad. The kids swam every day but one, the campground beach was rocky and gravely which made it hard to walk on for the kids but they swam anyway. Then on Weds. we drove the few miles to the public beach wich was solid sand and they swam some more. They rode their bikes around the campgrounds, played badmitton, we walked the historic streets of Manistee, watched a tugboat push a barge up the river and under a tow bridge and went to have ice cream at the house of flavors before coming back to the campgrounds for campfire buisquits and grilled chicken with rice! The next morning we did a 30 minute nature walk then packed up our gear and headed back home. Was a nice camp out but now Larry and I look forward to going back up there for a few days alone. We have always LOVED Ludington which is south of Manistee but I think we like this newer area even more! Its old, historic and beautiful! A fun place.
Another week or so and the kids are back in school....yayeee!!! Its been a whirlwind of a summer and I cant believe its almost over. The leaves are beginning to turn and some are falling but I think that may have something to do with the heat and drought we had this summer. Anyway, we are staring fall in the eye already! Okay, enough of the weather....you all take care and know that I love you each and every one! Lin...we have NOT heard much from you.
Love you,
Rose

Grandbaby story....
Hello my family, I cant hold it in any longer....I have to gush about my sweet little grandbaby. She has changed so much in three months I couldnt believe it. She looks like a little girl more then she looks like a baby!! She remembered me, which filled my heart to the brim again. She is all over the place, runs, not walks....everywhere. And she climbs on everything too. She is a happy healthy little baby girl. I got hugs and kisses at every turn which put me in my glory, of course. We spent alot of time together, taking walks, playing, singing, reading and just soaking in her whole being. Man Im in love.....so much. Ok, now that Ive gushed I feel much better. She loved playing with my underwear and bra.....hahah was too funny. And when I chased her and said "Im going to get you", she would run away with her hands out in front of her like a zombie running and laughing. Aw, shes just too sweet. Love to all, Cindy

Wonderful Baby Fix
Hello family, just wanted to relay my trip to Virginia to see Maya and Kelly. I didn't do any site seeing or anything, just spent time with the baby and Kelly. I was in heaven!!! She has changed so much in the three months since I have seen her. She is allllllll over the place now, running everywhere. She is cute as a button, of course, and she remembered me right away which warmed my heart to no end. I held and cuddled her as much as I could. I fed her every meal and gave her every bath. I slept on a mattress in front of her crib and every morning she would wake up and put her little hand through the bars and poke at me. I will send some pictures as soon as I get them downloaded, I know you just can't wait...haha My heart is full once again until the next time. Kelly was great and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. She is always so generous with Maya and I appreciate that.
And Rose, you forgot about my in and outs.....geez...haha I will get mine up soon also. Im game for any subject for our next topic. Holy works for me to get us going until we decide on the others. Just let me know. Love to everyone, Cindy

Hello my beautiful sistas!
First, thank you Esther for saving my butt and posting my two themes on the Blog for me! I appreciate your helping me.
Second, here are a few proposals for the next photo shoot theme....oh and by the way....you guys put in a few ideas and we will vote on the best next theme. Hurry up now!
Here are my suggestions: holy, textures, we discussed emotions such as joy, sadness and swings. I do like "swings"but can also think of lots of "holy" things so lets get some input guys! Lin, we still need your exit and entrance dont we? Good luck, girls and happy shooting!
