I'm not sure about Kathy, who is probably caught at least downwind (by many miles) of the Silverado Canyon fire, but I am certainly safe and far from the main troubles. You might remember attending a wedding for your sister, Linda-mom, in Lemon Heights some decades ago; well, that area is ablaze and I'm sure the house we used to live in has been evacuated.

Ash is raining down on everyone and everything, particularly those downwind of these fires. This morning when Mom called to say Magic Mountain was on fire (or near it), the entire San Fernando Valley (where I live) had the bluest, clearest skies and no ash. Well, driving home, it is now blanketed with smoke, with a fine but thin bit of ash falling (not much, really) and doesn't even smell like a BBQ, but it is weird. Over Studio City is the only blue patch, because, it butts up against Beverly Hills whose city council passed a "no smoky skies" ordinance yesterday, and they are rich enough there to actually pay off God to get their wish. Seems like it anyway.
Anyway, it's pretty creepy. And hot. But we are fine, and we'll just stay indoors where it's cooler anyway and maybe less ash in our lungs. Love you all!!!
