My first big painting

Hello sisters...Since you guys aren't on Facebook to show you, I posted it here. This is my first "Big" painting and I wanted to show you. I think I'm done, will have to stare at it a little more. When I get close to getting done, I'm afraid to keep going because I'm afraid of messing it up....plus I'm trying to learn to be done. What I mean is, I keep going trying to tweek it and then end up messing it up. So anyway, this is a 2' x 4' canvas. What do you think? Ideas and comments are welcome. May not do it to this one, but will have them for the next one. Love Cindy

Very cool Cin. I must say I like the stairway the best, you did really well on that. Not sure about the point of water that is seen in the foreground, something looks off about it, but pretty good for a novice painter. Keep up the good work. Love ES

Hi Cin...I like this one very much and think you are improving a lot! I love the stairway and I stand firm on my last suggestion to you of bringing a little suple blue into the ground and some suple brown in pieces of the clouds. Do not separate your colors...everything in nature has reflections of color from whatever stands next to it. Keep going but give yourself a break from that painting. Turn it around against the wall for a while....it will look different the next time you look.

thats what i need to do....turn it around. i keep it facing me and study it and try to think of what i need to do. now i have a question though. you say i should make the sky lighter then the water? i forgot about adding some green to the sky, but i did use some gray and different blues...or i tried too...lol i also agree with esthers suggestion about the water but dont know how to make the part facing the front look finished. i tried by making debries in the water and that helped a bit, but it still looks off. was way cool doing a big picture but my arm is about ready to fall off...hahaha ok, will let it go a few days and then see if i can add the changes. thanks for the input and comments. they help. love you guys, cin
